2009: Upheaval In The Identity Market

2009 sees a historic convergence of disruptive trends in the identity market. A new tech-savvy generation is entering the workforce with new attitudes and expectations, and with new consumer information technology in its pockets, just as the economy which has supported the previous generation's IT budgets and architectures experiences its worst crisis in a century. And the economic crisis undermines more than the bottom line; it undermines the public's trust in institutions. This unsettled environment has already destroyed fortunes; it may also destroy technologies, architectures, and business models. But new green spaces will open up to exploit the new expectations and the new rules. Identity and privacy will be at the center of the new IT universe.

In this session, IdPS Research Director Bob Blakley will:
Discuss the social, economic, and political forces driving change in business and technology in 2009
Identify the trends which will shape identity and privacy in 2009 and beyond
List some practical steps organizations can take now to align themselves with these identity and privacy trends and prepare themselves to emerge from the crisis stronger than they entered it
