Data Quality Metrics: Measuring the Value of Information
Effective metrics include measurements of the data that computer systems deliver to businesspeople. Without those metrics, IT departments cannot fully understand the value that computer systems are providing for the business. Businesses pay for IT because of the information they expect IT systems to produce. Therefore, measuring the quality and usefulness of information that IT systems deliver to businesspeople is a fundamental component of effective IT metrics.
This session gives guidance on increasing the value and usefulness of information systems, using data quality tools, and measuring the business's perception of information quality.
This session will include:
• A broadly-applicable set of data quality metrics
• A roadmap for implementing data quality metrics
• Guidance on diagnosing data quality deficiencies
• A view of the landscape for data quality tools and practices
• Ways to track an IT department's data management maturity
